Hey, my name is Liam, and I first published 'Redknapp Hopes James Will Be Fit For FA Cup Final' on 28th April, 2008, within the Football Ramblings section.
David James is a doubt for Portsmouth’s FA Cup final match with Cardiff but manager Harry Redknapp is hopeful that the shot-stopper can recover in time to play.
The England international was ruled out of Portsmouth’s game with Blackburn over the weekend, a game they lost 1-0. Jamie Ashdown deputised in place of James after he couldn’t recover from a calf injury in time.
The claf injury James picked up was in a result of playing against his former club Manchester City in last weekends Premier League defeat. James went for an immediate scan on the calf and scans showed that he has torn the calf.
Now manager Harry Redknapp now he will be sweating on the fitness of first choice keeper James for next months FA Cup showdown at Wembley.
Redknapp said that although he thinks he should be fit in time for the final, with a calf problem it is hard to tell if he’ll make it or not.
