Rangers v Fiorentina Preview
The Author
Hey, my name is Liam, and I first published 'Rangers v Fiorentina Preview' on 24th April, 2008, within the UEFA Cup section.
The first leg of the UEFA Cup semi final between Rangers and Fiorentina takes place at Ibrox on Thursday night and the winner of the two legged tie will go through to the final of the UEFA Cup.
Fiorentina have already kicked a British team out of the competition after they beat Everton. Rangers will be hoping to get a good advantage in this game and will hope to stop Fiorentina from getting a vital away goal.
Rangers
Rangers have several injury problems ahead of the game with Barry Ferguson and Kevin Thomson both suspended after picking up yellow cards in the last UEFA Cup match. Steven Naismith and Chris Burke are both on the injured list and are expected to miss the match.
As well as Burke and Naismith, Allan McGregor, striker Lee McCulloch, Charlie Adam and winger DaMarcus Beasley will all be sitting out the match through injury. Key striker Kris Boyd should be fit to start the match after recovering from a bout of food poisoning.
Fiorentina
Thomas Ujfalusi will miss the game for Fiorentina through injury. The news of the defenders absence will no doubt be good news for Rangers. They will also be without Marco Donadel who picked up a suspension in the last round.
Ujfalusi will be replaced by former Everton defender Per Koldrup and Donadel will be replaced by Zdravko Kuzmanovic in the midfield.
Fiorentina will have Dario Dainelli back after he picked up a head injury during the Serie A match against Palermo at the weekend.

Mutu is the best
He was good before the drugs incident at Chelsea, now I hardly hear of him.
