It was revealed today that Frank Lampard’s mother Pat has died.
Pat Lampard has been in hospital after suffering from pneumonia and sadly passed away on Thursday.
Frank Lampard has been at her bedside for the past two weeks and has missed Chelsea’s two Premier League games with Wigan and Everton. He briefly left the hospital to play in the Champions League semi final against Liverpool on Tuesday night.
Lampard and his family have given a thank you message to everyone for their support during the difficult time.
A Lampard representative said that Pat Lampard sadly died this afternoon. Frank and his family would like to thank everyone for their continuing support. He also thanked everyone at Chelsea for the support the club has given him during such an emotional time.
Lampard is now uncertain whether he will be playing in the match against Manchester United at the weekend or the second leg of the Champions League on Wednesday against Liverpool.
