Liverpool play Chelsea on Tuesday night at Anfield and Gerrard was a major doubt for the game as he missed the Premier League game at the weekend.
Gerrard sat out of the game over the weekend against Fulham due to a neck injury and many thought he would miss out on the game.
But boss Benitez has told Gerrard he will be playing and the news will no doubt boost the whole Liverpool team ahead of the big game.
Benitez said that Gerrard is fit and raring to go, and that he managed to train okay on Monday.
