In the second of tie of the Champions League Semi Final Manchester United take on Barcelona at the Nou Camp. The game promises to be exciting and both sides will be looking to get an advantage to take back to Old Trafford. Both sides have strength in their squad and the team news is as follows.
Manchester United
Manchester United could be without central defender Nemanja Vidic who has missed the last few matches with a knee problem and was sick on Tuesday with a stomach problem. He missed training and if he doesn’t make the game it will be a massive blow for Man Utd.
Should Vidic miss out then Wes Brown will slip into the centre back position with Gary Neville or John O’Shea taking up the right back position.
Other slight doubts are goalkeeper Edwin Van Der Sar, who missed the Premier League match on Saturday against Blackburn with a groin strain. He has made the trip to Barcelona and is confident of starting.
Wayne Rooney, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves will play their part tonight after they all picked up knocks or missed the game on Saturday with slight injuries.
Barcelona
Lionel Messi has being declared fit to play after missing the last few weeks with a thigh problem. The winger will no doubt be fired up to go after so long out of action.
Both Thierry Henry and Deco were doubts ahead of the game but Deco has recovered from a calf injury and Henry has got over a fever so both are in contention to play.
Mexican defender Rafael Marquez was a doubt with an injury to his foot but looks like he will be fit enough to play at the heart of the Barcelona defence.
Both sides have key players in their team but no doubt everyone will be watching how Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Lionel Messi of Barcelona fair. Both players are on centre stage tonight, now all we can do is wait to see which one wins the battle.
